Demonstration to commemorate the anniversary of the imposition of martial law
The leader stated he would suggest making December 3 a national day to recognize individuals whoresisted the military rule initiative, adding that they were worthy of consideration for the Nobel Peace Prize.
South Korean authorities informed AFP that approximately 2,000 individuals are anticipated to gather close to the National Assembly on Wednesday to mark the occasion.
Lee is also scheduled to participate in the rally held outside the National Assembly, where legislators previously rejected a military law proposal by voting against it.
What prompted Yoon to impose martial law?
At that moment, Yoon stated the declaration was essential to eliminate “pro-North Korean factions” and then proceeded to deploy soldiers and police into the Assembly.

Seoul avoids involvement in the Japan-China conflict
During his speech, Lee also mentioned that he would remain impartial in the current situation.China–Japan dispute over Taiwan.
“Japan and China are in conflict, and choosing sides only increases conflicts,” he said.
The South Korean leader also mentioned his intention to work towards creating circumstances for renewed discussions between North Korea and the United States, including examining the combined US–South Korea military drills.
