Erling Haaland (Norway) has broken records by going beyond the Premier League (EPL) icon Alan Shearer.
Haaland played a key role in Manchester City’s 5-4 win against Fulham during the 14th round of the league, which took place at Craven Cottage in London on the 3rd. He scored one goal and provided two assists. He found the back of the net in the 17th minute of the first half, heading in a cross from Jérémy Doku with a left-footed strike that went into the top corner. This was Haaland’s 15th Premier League goal of the season (in 14 games) and his 100th league goal overall.
After moving to Manchester City from Dortmund (Germany) in June 2022, Haaland achieved the 100-goal mark in just four seasons and 111 Premier League games. He broke Shearer’s (55, retired) record of 100 goals in 124 matches, which was established on December 12, 1995, by 13 games. In a post-game interview, Haaland expressed his excitement, stating, “It’s great to be part of the ‘100-goal club.’ I’m surprised I managed it so fast. It’s a moment of pride.”
Manchester City earned 28 points (9 victories, 1 draw, 4 defeats) following a high-scoring match against Fulham that saw 9 goals. They are currently 2 points behind league leaders Arsenal, who have 9 wins, 3 draws, and 1 loss.
